A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, Helping a Hero began as an initiative to get wounded warriors out of the hospital for fishing, motorcycle rides, and other recreational outings. Today Helping a Hero primarily awards adapted homes to wounded warriors and works with the veteran to tailor the home to meet their needs.  The organization also conducts marriage retreats, caregiver retreats, and recreational activities including hunting, fishing, sporting events, BBQ’s, rodeos, etc...

Over the years, it has awarded more than 100 homes in 22 states for our most severely wounded warriors.
